Providing a forum or platform for representation, information sharing, collaboration and networking among our members.
Acting as a common voice for members
Representing, advocating and lobbying for members’ interests to the central government, Local Governments, Development Partners and other relevant bodies in the water sector.
Promoting adherence to professional standards that foster delivery of quality services by its members.
Promoting capacity building of members in such areas and skill as deemed appropriate.
Promoting the development and expansion of private water services and sanitation in Uganda.
Conducting community awareness and sensitization campaigns to promote sanitation and safe water use.
Collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical and other information relating to private water operations in Uganda.

The Association of Private Water Operators (APWO)s is an umbrella organization that brings together local private water companies/operators that are involved in provision of water supply and sanitation services in small towns and rural growth centers in Uganda.

APWO’s principal role is to work with other stakeholders and advocate for a better working environment to enable its members provide best services possible and contribute to national development through access to safe and clean water. APWO works hand in hand with the Ministry of Water and Environment, development partners and international organizations.

What is APWO Uganda?

Objectives of APWO

To promote the common interests of private water operators through representation, advocacy and lobbying for policy improvements with the government, local authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
To coordinate the operations of private water operators to generate economies of scale and efficiency gains in the management of water and sanitation services.
To build capacity of private water operators that will result into system improvements including extension of services to more consumers, improvements in operating efficiency and sustenance of the water supply service delivery.
